Section 301.4 is hereby added to the International Property Maintenance Code and shall read as follows:

301.4 Repairs after casualty damage. Within a period of ninety (90) days after casualty damage to any premises, the owner and operator shall take the following steps.

(A) Contract for the repair and restoration of damage areas and removal of debris.

(B) Contract for the demolition and removal of any part of the premises not to be repaired and restored and for the removal of debris in connection therewith. Should an adjustment of insurance claims take longer than ninety (90) days, the Building Official or their designee may grant an extension in the period of time needed to comply with this section.
