Unless otherwise provided by law, a contract for supplies, materials, equipment or services may be renewed or extended provided the term of the contract and conditions for renewal or extension, if any, are included in the solicitations. The option will only be exercised as it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City. Consideration will include price, quality, vendor performance, economic trends and other evaluation factors which would affect the City’s best interest. The City Manager shall make recommendation for renewal/extension of any contract totaling $50,000 and greater to the Governing Body for review. The Governing Body shall make final award as it is determined to be most advantageous to the City. The City Manager may award a renewal/extension for contracts totaling $50,000 or less.
