Falsely reporting a crime or public offense is informing a law enforcement officer that a crime has been committed, knowing that such information is false and intending that the officer shall act in reliance upon such information. Falsely reporting a crime is a Class A Public Offense. (Ord. 04-38 § 2, 2004; Ord. 83-75 § 2, 1983.)
