(1) The Police Department shall cause, make, maintain, file and report fingerprint impressions as authorized and required by K.S.A. 21-2501 and amendments thereto, and for violations of city ordinances which prohibit the same or similar acts as authorized and required by K.S.A. 21-2501, K.S.A. 12-4106 and amendments thereto.

(2) The Police Department may upon arrest of any person or persons wanted for the commission of a Class A Public Offense cause fingerprint impressions and photographs to be made of such person or persons which shall be filed with a comprehensive description and such other data and information as may be necessary to properly identify such person or persons, maintained in the Police Department of this city. The aforementioned criminal identification fingerprint impressions, photographs, description or other data may be used only for the purpose of criminal identification and investigation by members of the Olathe Police Department, in accordance with federal and state enactments controlling dissemination of criminal history and identification data.
